What to Pack in Your Hospital Bag — The Ultimate guide for Mamas-to-Be

The countdown is on — and whether you’re 30 weeks or 39 weeks pregnant, getting your hospital bag ready can make those last days feel a little more exciting (and a lot less stressful). To help, we’ve created a practical checklist that covers everything you, baby and your partner will need for the big day.

For Mama

Comfort is everything during labour and recovery. Pack items that make you feel calm, supported and cared for.

  • Comfy nightie or button-down pyjamas
  • Loose-fitting clothing for after birth
  • Nursing bra & breast pads
  • Maternity pads (more than you think!)
  • High-waisted, supportive underwear
  • Toiletries – face wipes, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, toothbrush & toothpaste, lip balm, nipple cream
  • Hair ties or headband
  • Slippers & socks
  • Dressing gown or robe
  • Going-home outfit (comfy is key!)
  • Phone charger (long cord = lifesaver)
  • Snacks & a water bottle

For Baby

Your tiny love will need a few essentials to stay warm, snug & cute in those first days earth-side.

  • Nappies & baby wipes
  • Cotton singlets (we love the ones with snaps so they don’t ride up)
  • Socks, booties, mittens & a hat
  • Onesies
  • Swaddles / wraps
  • Baby blanket

Baby's First Outfit

You have waited 9 months for this. That magical first moment deserves something truly special.

  • Romper (we love a personalised one!)
  • Booties
  • Beanie / headband
  • Blanket
  • Birth announcement plaque

Support Partner

Your support person will thank you for thinking ahead.

  • Change of clothes
  • Toiletries
  • Phone charger

Optional Extra's

  • Massage aids
  • Hot / cold gel pack
  • TENS machine
  • Music or playlist

Our TIP

Keep your bag by the door from 36 weeks, just in case! Packing a little earlier gives you peace of mind and helps you focus on what really matters — meeting your baby.

If you’re still planning your birth announcement, explore our personalised rompers & blankets — handcrafted by mums, for mums, right here in Australia. Because those first memories deserve something made with love.
